We are husband and wife, producing a different style of erotic art. We had seen much of what is usually available, and thought we could do art that was at least as good, if not better.

And also, we were both doing really boring and tedious jobs and were looking for something a little more 'exciting'!

Meztelen only began painting erotic art recently. His previous work focused on landscapes, steam engines, and aircraft – all subjects he’s passionate about.

"Eventually I realized I had to paint the other subject I’m passionate about – the female form." The experience and techniques Meztelen gained in his previous work transferred well to the realistic style of his erotic art.

"My favorite medium is acrylics which have all the desirable qualities of oils, but without the disadvantages."

Meztelen builds his works using oil-painting techniques to give a depth and luminosity that’s hard to achieve in any other way.

Meztelen adds, "the depth of color doesn’t come over well from scans, you really have to see the originals to appreciate it."
"I’m not sure how I’d describe my overall style.

Someone once said my work has the same feel as Jazz - dark, moody, and a little seedy without being explicit. I’m fascinated by light and shade, and how to describe forms and space."
